Color Interactions

2021
watercolor, 660 Japanese seed beads, nylon, paper
10 x 14 inches

Inspired by the color research and theories of Josef Albers, Color Interactions is a series of 36 watercolors that have been hand embroidered with Japanese glass seed beads to create an optical mixing effect between the field and the embellishment. By restricting the beads to twelve colors, the series demonstrates color interactions among variable gradients.

Concentrated, lightfast water color pigments and Miyuki 11/0 Round Seed Beads.
